Spiko<\/a>, a provider of tokenised cash funds, has raised $90
\nmillion in a Series B funding round led by New Enterprise Associates<\/a> (NEA),
\nbringing its total funding<\/a> to $120 million. The round also included
\nparticipation from Index Ventures, Speedinvest and White Star Capital,
\nalongside angel investors including the founders of Qonto and Axel Weber,
\nformer president of the Bundesbank.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spiko was founded to broaden access to yield on cash.
\nEurope and the United States hold around $50 trillion in cash and deposits,
\nmuch of which earns little or no return. While banks and large institutions can
\naccess the wholesale financial system to generate yield on their cash, smaller
\nbusinesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and financial institutions often have
\nmore limited access to similar opportunities.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company develops its own range of regulated cash funds,
\nfrom products offering sub-daily liquidity to fixed-term options. Businesses
\ncan access them through Spiko\u2019s desktop and mobile app, while companies and
\nfinancial platforms can integrate the products into their own services through
\nan API.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its clients include startups, scaleups, research
\ninstitutes, public institutions, venture capital funds and medical practices,
\nwith products available across the euro, US dollar, sterling and Swiss franc.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spiko is also developing its products around the growing
\nneed for cash to move continuously through software, rather than being
\nconstrained by traditional market, payment and accounting hours. Its funds
\ncurrently offer instant withdrawals, with the company planning to introduce
\nyield that accrues continuously.<\/span><\/p>\n

The funds are issued onchain, allowing them to operate on
\nthe same infrastructure as stablecoins and smart contracts. Spiko says it has
\nbecome the world\u2019s largest issuer of tokenised cash funds, ahead of BlackRock
\nand Franklin Templeton.<\/span><\/p>\n

This infrastructure is designed to make cash programmable
\nand automate treasury management. Companies can set rules determining how much
\ncash remains in operating accounts for expenses such as payroll and supplier
\npayments, automatically move excess funds into liquid products, and allocate
\ncash that is not immediately needed to fixed-term funds. These rules can also
\nbe adjusted through Spiko\u2019s API by treasury management systems or AI agents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spiko will use the new funding to launch additional funds,
\nenter new markets and expand its team. The company operates from hubs in Paris
\nand London and is building local teams across Europe, including in Germany,
\nItaly, Spain, the Netherlands and the Nordics.<\/span><\/p>\n
